Ten Birthdays
Mycroft
His day starts with the presents. He gets books galore, a suit to wear to parties and on Sundays, and an Umbrella.
After presents and eggs with sausage, he races outside into the sunshine. He plays games wih his father. Sometimes they're real games, like tag and hide-n-seek, and sometimes they're games that take place in a world of his own.
In the end, he lays in the grass, and looks up at the sky. He points at clouds, making up stories to go with their shapes. His other hand curls into a fist around the cool grass.
After that, there's cake. it's his favorite, chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and caramel drizzled on top. He eats two slices. He loves cake. He licks his plate after even though mummy told him not to.
And it's been such a perfect seventh birthday. After an hour of his daddy reaing one of his new books to him, he doesn't think it can get any better, until his mother comes in to tuck him in, and just befoore she whispers good night...
She says "Mycroft, you're going to be a brother."
It's the best birthday in his entire life.
