"Why would you do something like that to me?" she asks him the day after they were meant to go on 'Good Morning Chicago.'
In truth, all week when they had been practicing their dance, he couldn't help but feel like they were better together than he and Tinka ever were. And that was a problem for him.
"That's a stupid reason," she says when he explains this. "I get it. You and Tinka are a team like me and Rocky. I know. But I would never have thought of sabotaging you, so why does it make it okay for you?"
But this is not the real reason he sabotages her. When he locked the door, trapping her, he was also trapping in his feelings for her. Then he and his sister could do their dance, and everything would be right on the outside, though it really wouldn't be to him.
But he would never tell her this.
Instead he says, "Why would you never think of sabotaging me? Why, after everything we've been through, would you not want to get rid of me?"
"We're a good team. Gary says so, I think so, and I know you do too."
"That's all?" he asks.
In truth, though she's hated his arrogant attitude and self-centeredness since she's met him, she finally realized how similar they were in these respects, and how good they were together, on the dance floor and off.
But she would never tell him this.
