Emerald
There was this strange boy name Lee, he was nice, weird, and cheerful. He was friends with everybody and no one seemed to bare no ill will for the kid. He always spoke to me and he never treated me like a plague. It warmed my heart a little.
I wasn't the friendliest person in the world. I scare my own family, hell even my day can't look me straight in the eyes. I feel horrible at times, but I can't say I regret it.
Today is my birthday and I've been friends with Lee for five months. We're like brothers in a way. I've got around to telling him when my birthday was. I didn't want to because it had no meaning to it.
Hours went by and it's like time was getting slower and slower, my conscious scream, you know you want to tell him.
I couldn't do it.
My family never said happy birthday to me.
It's not like I care.
"Hey Gaara," it was Lee he was running at full speed and I had to brace myself incase he decide to barrel into me. He stopped and took a breath and held something out in front of me. "I had to go through a lot of trouble to get this. And I had to go through a lot when I was asking the wrong people to ask for your birthday. Frankly I shouldn't have to do that because as a friend you should've told me."
"I'm sorry," I had the grace to look embarrass.
I pulled out an emerald necklace. It surprised me because it'd looked like something my mother had.
"Your sister had slipped me the information about the necklace. She felt that you'd be the best person to give it to."
I didn't know what to say, but it was needless to say that this was the best birthday ever.
"Thanks Lee," I said truly meaning it.
"There's no need for it."
Happy Birthday Gaara!
