Kenida sat on the curb, half bored from nothing to do. She had watched many people go by. Some ugly, some beautiful, some fat, some skinny, some driving, some walking. It didn't really matter anymore. This town had no surprises for a 16 year old girl anymore and it certainly didn't help that she was emo, in fact, a few kids had given her weird freaked glances while going past.

She had only avoided their gaze and stared down at the sidewalk. After a few minutes, Kenida got up to leave. That was when she saw him. The perfect white-skinned, black haired, gray eyed, emo boy. His red lips stood out from his pale face and his eyes had a strange sparkle that seemed to fill Kenida's mind with their existance. But there was another girl, another girl right next to him! She had dark brown hair and eyes that were nearly as black as coal. A spark of jealousy rose in Kenida's heart, bubbling up and causing an angry stare to protrude in the other girl's direction.

The boy smiled and opened the door to the Seven Eleven gas station mini-mart, letting the strange girl go in first before following her. The last bit of common sense in Kenida's mind seemed to snap and she bolted through the parking lot and into the mini-mart, startling several ordinary teenagers that seemed to be playing some weird game.

Looking around frantically she located the exact position of the amazing boy. He was there by the Slurpee machine. He took a cup and fixed the plastic top in place. The strange girlfriend headed in the direction of the bathrooms and Kenida almost jumped for joy.

Now was her perfect chance!

The perfect opportunity!

She gulped and walked over. Her confused mind raced with the stress of deciding what to say but this was her chance, this was the only way he would ever know her. If she waited for him to make the move like a friend she knew then Kenida would never meet him. To know his name... To kiss him... But she must not rush the kiss either, she knew a kiss had to be just right.

"Hello." Kenida managed, how corny, but what she wanted to say would ruin all chances. Her heart was practically screaming it.

The boy turned his head in her direction and smiled,"Hello." He put his cup under the root beer Slurpee spout in one quick motion.

"What's your name?" Kenida asked, leaning up against the counter for balance. Her feelings were taking over, seemingly.

"Harley. My name is Harley." The boy, Harley, pushed down on the button that caused the Slurpee to fill his cup and continued smiling. "Mind handing me one of those straws? Orange please although I don't really care what you give me."

Kenida nodded quickly and took a perfect orange straw, handing it to Harley.

"Thank you." Harley stuck the straw in the top of the cup and smiled again.
