I do not own JONAS or any of the characters/people mentioned. Don't own don't sue (:
Kevin and Joe Lucas had foolishly gotten in the way of a determined Macy Misa earlier on in the day, and after being threatened to 'Move 'em or lose 'em', the two brothers decided to her in her search for the missing charm. Luckily for them, and all their fans, they found the golden No1 charm soon after.
It was the charm that led JONAS and Stella Malone to attend their first basket ball game at Horace Mantis. They were sat upon the top bleacher of the gym, watching Macy play sports for the first time. Joe and Nick tried to worm their way out of it, but after a few words of persuasion from Kevin they decided they weren't about to pass up the opportunity to watch girls in shorts.
Kevin didn't need persuading. He couldn't wait to see the look on Macy's face when he revealed her lucky charm.
"Dude, how good does number six look" Joe says whilst nudging Nick in the side.
"You do realise that 'Number six' is Macy don't you?"
Focusing closer he shakes his head. "No I didn't. I guess I should say Macy looks good huh"
Joe was unashamedly checking out Macy in front of his brothers and best friend, and whilst Nick took it in good jest the other two didn't share his view.
"Joe!" Kevin and Stella scalded.
"What?" he asked.
Stella had a good enough reason. The two of them had been dancing around each other for the past few months trying to deny their feelings. Joe should have been saying complimentary things about her not her best friend. Not to say she wanted to deprive Macy of any guys attention, she just didn't want to hear Joe saying them.
Kevin on the other hand, he couldn't explain why he had reacted like that. The feeling of jealousy that consumed him took him completely by surprise. He didn't want to hear another guy talking about Macy like that, whether it's one of his brothers or not.
"What's the matter Kev?" Nick asked with a knowing look in his eyes. He always was the more perceptive considering he was the youngest of them all.
"I-I...was just er.... helping Stella out, with Macy being her best friend and all" he said making no sense at all.
"So it's nothing to do wi-"
Luckily for Kevin, the buzzer resonated through the gym drowning out all of Nicks words. He knew Nick had cottoned on to the real reason he was defending Macy and would have no trouble in telling everyone in a ten meter radius. Before he had the chance to do so, Kevin left the three sitting and made his way over to Macy.
He wasn't sure where his burst of confidence had come from, but he walked across the wooden floor intent on asking Macy to dinner. He could ask her if she wanted to go celebrate her team winning and hope that the rest her team mates didn't join them. Or he could give her the lucky charm and just slip the invite on the end. Either way he was asking her today.
"Hey Macy, do you-"
His question was stopped in it's tracks as the basket ball that was in her hands made contact, not so gently, with his chest.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I can't believe I hit you with sports equipment again, that hasn't happened in so long. Are you okay Kevin?"
He didn't know it was the 'woman's intuition' he had heard his mother talk about that told Macy he was going to ask her out, but she had reverted to the nervous girl he met at the beginning of the year. And as before, she had managed to knock the wind out of him.
Maybe he could ask her out tomorrow.
