"You did it!" The seemingly asleep detective pointed at me. I was calm on the outside but panicking inside. He knew, even though he mistook the other woman for the murderer.
As the detective told how the murder was carried out and when, and why my alibi was false, the panic was growing inside me by the minute. But I knew I was still safe, he had no proof whatsoever. As I told him this, he then asked "Oh really?"
He revealed the clue that I had so carelessly over-looked. It was unbelievable. Unconceivable. My perfect plan was coming crashing down all around me as the other three people looked at me in horror and disgust.
I hung my head and aloud the police to handcuff me and lead me away. "She truly loved you. No matter what happened between her and that guy." the detective said to my back.
As I was forced in to the police car, the images of my wife bleeding all over, the bloody club, mopping the red liquid up, removing the other evidence but over looking the single chip of metal on the floor.
"She truly loved you. No matter what happened between her and that guy." The truth rang out in my ears and I aloud a single tear of regret and remorse travel down my face and plop onto the handcuffs. I loved her too, but I couldn't rust her. I deserved this punishment.
Wait for me and please find it to forgive me, my love. this thought I sent to Heaven like a bird, maybe reaching the only one I truly cared about
