Author's Notes

This is a poem that I thought up after the storm that came through on 9/16/10 and brought about 10 tornados through the state. The storm and a song that I was listening to recently also inspired me to write a separate series of poems under the name of "Nature's Kin" and they are about the seasons. So I'm hoping that I might have them up at some point but I'm not making any promises. Please tell me what you think about it. ^_^

7 Tails of Summer

With its two heads and seven tails,

Summer reigns, a mighty beast.

But though it is a fearsome force,

Its reigning will not last.

And so it knows this very fact,

With temper boiling hot.

As it stands on its last legs

And roars it's beastly roar,

It summons all its might.

And with this might, it calls our blight,

The final tail, Tornado.

With blinded power and unending rage,

Its tail brings us to suffer.

So as we mourn, its power wanes,

And Summer's breath is quenched.
