Beyond The Veil
By Lillian Evans
One harmless piece of cloth//
Fixed beneath an arch of stone// Whoever comes too near it// Will not again go home//
Where once there was a battle// Only whispers now remain// But our lives without his laughter// Will never be the same//
The cackling of her laughter// The cries from all his friends// The smile lingering on his lips// That's how his story ends//
But now they've all gone home// And one side had to fail// But who will ever know// What he met beyond the veil?//
What he met beyond the veil// No living man can tell// What's found beyond the veil// Where our dear beloved fell?//
