"Give that back right now."
He grinned, because she looked so funny. She had on her "ready-to-kill" face, her cheeks puffed because her lips were in such a tight line. His smile quirked a little at the sight of her right eye twitching.
This smiling only served to make her angrier, and she let out a shrill shriek.
"Taichi, you are the most INSENSITIVE jerk face ever!"
"Jerk face?" He asked mockingly, his left eyebrow raised. His smirk also remained.
She sent him a withering glare, blowing air harshly out of her nose.
"If you don't give it back this instant, I will kill you with my bare hands."
Silence reigned for a few seconds, before-
"Bear hands?"
"What?"
"Bear hands, you said?"
"Taichi, are you losing brain cells at that rapid a rate? Yes, bare hands."
"You mean, 'Bear' hands?"
The look on her face was awkward, caught between rage and understanding of his taunt.
Taichi collapsed on the couch laughing, clutching his sides as the image of her with bear paws made its way into his mind. He stopped when he felt the bag he had previously been holding being ripped from his hands. Looking up, he saw that she wasn't amused.
"I'm going now. I'm already late, and I just know today was the day he was finally going to ask me out," she sighed, looking at her watch.
Taichi didn't say anything in response, staring at his shoe laces as his joking mood evaporated. She started walking towards the doorway to the entrance hall, but stopped, watching the dour boy on the couch in the corner of her eye.
"Just so you know, you're lucky that it was just my bear hands, because it could have been much worse, considering I support the right to bear arms," she stated, straightening her coat.
He looked up, shocked. Then, an elated grin formed on his face.
"I could have dealt with anything. You know, my motto is 'Just grin and bear it'," he responded.
She laughed lightly, turning towards him and leaning against the wall.
Taichi looked at her, and said suddenly, "Go on a date with me this Friday."
She looked slightly surprised, but then smiled grandly. "Okay."
Taichi smiled matched hers, and she walked back into the room, throwing her coat and bag on a chair. She sat next to him, and when he caught her hand in his, she didn't pull away. He laced their fingers together, studying her hand.
"For bear hands, they look pretty good…" Taichi mused, and then kissed her hand.
"Beary punny," Mimi laughed, and then kissed him.
AN- This all started when a co-worker of mine started teasing me about my 'bear' hands after I threatened to kill him with them. Add a few more bear puns, and you have this story. The "Beary Punny" is the best; it came to me out of no-where.
Other updates? Eh…sometime in the grand ole' future.
Hope you enjoyed!
