Jem was dying. I held him in my arms, rocking forwards and backwards.

"Will?" Tessa walked in the room. She wearing red and black dress. "What's going on in here?" She whispered, her eyes fixed on Jem's pale face.

"Tess, I am so sorry." Croaked Jem. Tessa's eyes seemed to bulge and she hurried over to our side.

"James." I said, trying to hide the face my voice was going to break. "Don't you dare leave us." I said fiercly, "I forbid you to! You hear?"

Jem smiled at me, "William, life goes on, it gets a little heavy, the wheel break the butterfly.." He coughed making blood splatter on my face, I didn't care though.

"Jem.. you can't leave me." I whispered. "Your my parabatai!" My voice broke on the word, parabatai.

"I know William... I love you as my brother, and Tessa as my life." His body shuddered violently twice and then his body went still.

"Jem?" I whispered, feeling a tear run down my cheek. "James?"

Tessa wrapped her arms around us, crying. "He's gone to a better place Will." She murmured in my ear.
