On Monday, even though he knew he should not be there, he went to the hospital. He wanted to drag Syusuke out of that room, shake sense back into him, hold him, embrace him, kiss him. But instead he watched Syusuke watch his sister. Both Fujis would not stop to smiling the smile that would not stop crumbling around the edges.
Just before the end came, she asked to see Tezuka, who did not even know she had noticed his presence.
"Tezuka-kun, Syusuke, he..."
"I will look after him."
"Don't promise me anything. Never be bound by a promise, you will only bring hurt to yourself and others. Care for him and make him smile because you love him."
Tezuka nodded.
