Hey guys! Starfallgalaxy and I decided that our Marvel OCs would be enemies- and we wanted to write a story of how they met. And this is it! I hope you guys enjoy. I created the characters in this chapter (except Loki of course).
The television flashed with increasingly dark colors. All cameras fled to Germany, where people ran away from a terrifying scene no more than a few hours ago. They cried out as they stumbled away, looking to survive the night as if trapped in the tiny screen. Many miles away from the country,in the small town of Scranton, a group sat around their television. Poli, out of all four, was the only one who couldn't sit still. Her nerves tensed as she watched the screen, eyes focusing on the villain in the middle, who towered viciously over the people. His staff was raised in the air, and even though the heroes came to save the day, the group was still worried about the bad guy.
"Do you think Loki's coming to America next?" Sebastian questioned as he picked the tattoo on his face.
"He's coming here next," Benjamin brought up," If he came back for what I think he wants."
"But why attack Germany?" Andie brought up as she laid back in the couch," Wouldn't he think that we were in New York City? I mean, that's where he left her-"
"He did want to take over Earth before he came back to us," Poli mumbled," If he comes back for his daughter, I don't know what we'll do."
"Well, we just can't give her up, can we?" Sebastian demanded. "He can't just waltz in after all these years and-"
Poli's wings ruffed up as she anxiously stroked them. Feathers scattered all over the floor as she worried about the future. She was searching for a decision, a bit of advice that she could use in this situation. If Loki were to come back for his only daughter, she wondered if she could give her up.
Elizabeth, from a very young start, knew her real parents hadn't been around. She never thought much about her mom and dad, and only wanted to be with her 'family'. Her 'mother'-however- had died on the inside the minute he had to leave his daughter. Poli questioned whether or not the little girl could go with Loki. she wanted the two to be reunited after all these years, but seeing the god on the television, making people kneel before him...How dangerous was he?
"It's his daughter," Ben shrugged,"If he wants to take her home, we have to let him."
The greasy blond winced as the overgrown scar on his cheek lit up. The three before him knew he was lying, as his scar did so when he wasn't being truthful. It was a weakness he couldn't get rid of. Poli had a decision to make. She was in charge of protecting the young girl, and she had been safe this far. She was not about to let the daughter be in the hands of some villain- perhaps, Loki would have wanted it this way. Maybe...he wanted to keep her away from his … hobbies.
Poli wondered what to do next and she couldn't decide...then, a smile lit up on her stressed out face. One that the other three didn't trust very well.
"Pack up," she insisted," We have to do it quickly!"
"Why?" the young Arabic girl stood up," Poli, what are we doing?"
"What I think is best," the girl's wings flapped behind her, leaving a trail of feathers as she went along,"We're gonna leave Scranton."
Before the others could say something, Poli went upstairs into the bedroom down the hall. Pink and purple clashed together on painted walls, thin curtains hung in the beautiful window. Dolls and books were all around in organized chaos. Air conditioning danced softly in the room, cold air being the best thing to comfort a half Jotun girl. A tiny light was on the desk, where little Elizabeth swung her legs as she wrote in a small journal. In her dark brunette hair shone little grey streaks, her blue and green eyes looked up to Poli with an innocent smile.
"Hi Aunt Poli," she said," I know I'm supposed to be asleep, but I got the best idea for a story!"
"That's alright, Bee," the native American woman whispered, taking out the suitcases from her closet," We're going to go on a little vacation this summer."
"Where?" the girl hopped from her seat as her eyes lit up with excitement," Are we all gonna go?"
"Yep!" the woman nodded as she picked out armfuls of outfits," Aunt Andie, Uncle Ben and Uncle Sebastian are almost packed up. Now, you look through these outfits and pick nice ones. Pick shorts and a bathing suit because we're gonna go to the beach. It'll be fun! I'm gonna go get my cases- pack whatever you need to, honey."
Poli walked out of the room to find that everyone had gone stifling through their rooms and bags. As she went off into the room she shared with Andie, Ben poked his head out, a duffle bag under his arm.
"The beach, huh?" he laughed," Thank God I have a speedo-"
"I want you and Sebastian in our room," she replied hastily," Now!"
Sebastian jumped at the sound of her voice. Quickly, he closed and reopened his eyes as his clone separated, and packed the rest of his bags. The men rushed in, just as Andie was packing hijabs and dresses in her largest bag. Poli pulled out her t-shirts, holes for her dying wings cut down the back. She had tensity running down her shoulders and into her chest, the pain increasing in the June heat. She hated being in this much pain when so much had been going on. Poli couldn't admit it, but she was scared. Scared that the god would come out and fight the four, in the attempts to get his daughter back. Scared that Elizabeth was in a risky position. Scared that, by leaving Scranton, they would get hurt even more.
"What's this all about?" Ben decided to ask.
"Why are we leaving Scranton?" Andie persisted.
"I know this is very last minute," Poli explained as she slammed the suitcase shut," but so was the situation we're in. I want to protect Elizabeth. I'm not letting Loki take her back when he's...not in the right state of mind."
"Was he ever?"
Ben's comments were met with a negative reaction. How could he be so relaxed in this situation? How could they all be?
"What if she falls into the same lifestyle Loki has?" Sebastian pointed out," He always did have a thirst for power- even if it was subtle."
"None of us deserve to be in this situation," Poli sighed," but for right now, I think it's important that we leave the city- even if he attacks New York City. It's too close in case anything happens. We can take the tunnels to California- stay there for a few weeks. While we're there, I don't want any mention of Loki or any attacks that happen. I don't want word of what he's doing and I especially don't want it mentioned in front of Elizabeth."
"It's not like she could remember-"
Poli pulled Benjamin in, eyes full of fury. He slowly took a hint, not wanting to be caught up in any more of her emotions. When she let go, she grabbed her case and ran out the door. The other three looked to one another for an answer and comfort. Yet, they only found emptiness. And a hint of hope. When they came out, the girls were sitting by the door, waiting for their journey to begin.
"Who's ready for San Francisco?" Poli asked as she opened the door.
The group nodded as they walked outside, to the nearby fire hydrant. Sebastian, with the strength of thousands, lifted the pavement next to the corner. He allowed the others to go into the tunnels, Elizabeth, full of excitement and joy, watched as the family ran to the car underground. She sat in the backseat with a smile as they soon drove off into the night, away from possible danger that lied in a city too close to home. \
