Author's Note: I do not own Fruits Basket. This takes place when Akito is a child, and before Akira dies. This is written for the Furuba Flash Bingo (046 - prompt: righteousness) on the Fruits Basket Fanfiction Challenges forum.

Akito stood in the garden with her father, Akira. Akito was amazed with everything in the garden. The butterflies, the flowers, everything. Akira laughed to himself as he watched his daughter try to catch a butterfly. He smiled when he saw Akito's face light up when she actually managed to catch one of the butterflies.

Akira approached her, "Now it's time to let the butterfly go." Akito stared back at her father in shock, with obvious disappointment showing on her face.

Akira began to explain, "We are the God of the Zodiac. With that role, we are expected to be righteous and caring to others. It's not fair to the butterfly to be held captive when it is meant to be free and show off it's beauty to the world."

Akito smiled as she let the butterfly go, and watched as it flew away. Akira smiled to himself as he thought of how well his daughter would be able to handle being the God of the Zodiac, before he lead his daughter back home.
