"A Birthday for Wherever Girl"
Liz had been noticing her friend, Wherever Girl, was feeling a bit down the closer it got to her birthday so she started coming up with a plan to help cheer her up.
She walked into her parents' apartment and looked at her dad, "Dad, I need your help with something really important." Liz said.
Fangface looked at his youngest daughter, "What's wrong, Liz?" he asked out of concern.
"WG, has been feeling really down lately and I want to do something to cheer her up, but I don't know what." Liz explained as she leaned against the counter, resting her chin in the palm of her right hand.
He placed his right paw on her left shoulder, "(Grr) I'm sure you'll come up with something, Lizzie, you always do." Fangface stated encouragingly.
Liz looked up at her dad, "You think so?" she asked.
Fangface nodded, "Of course." He replied.
Liz sat there a minute mulling over thoughts when suddenly she got an idea, "I know what to do, WG's birthday is tomorrow, how about we have a surprise party for her?" she suggested with a gleam in her eyes.
Fangsy smiled brightly, "Excellent idea, (grr) let's tell everyone." He replied.
The father and daughter left the apartment and rounded everyone up, Liz explained her plan, and everyone was in agreement. So that night, Liz and the rest of the family went birthday shopping while FF2 kept WG busy.
"Isn't this game fun, WG?" FF2 asked and they played Ni No Kuni on his Playstation 3.
"Yeah it is fun." WG commented but not with as much enthusiasm as she normally showed.
FF2 noticed how sad she looked, "Is something bothering you, hun?" he asked.
WG sighed, "I'm just depressed about my birthday tomorrow, if seems my family doesn't really care and my sister has been giving me hell lately." She replied.
He paused the game and hugged her tightly, "Don't worry so much, just remember Jesus is always with you." FF2 commented as he rubbed her back comfortingly.
She relaxed a little before pulling back, "Thanks, FF2, I really needed that." WG commented as she picked up her controller and they continued playing.
"No problem, WG." FF2 replied.
Meanwhile the gang had returned back to the apartments and were getting everything set up for WG's surprise party. After much decorating and making sure everything was perfect, Liz went off to find her best friend.
Upon arriving at FF2's apartment, she politely knocked, and FF2 answered, "Can you have WG come down to the lobby, please?" she asked.
"Of course, Liz." FF2 replied as Liz walked back off towards the lobby.
After a bit of proding, FF2 and WG walked into the lobby where the lights are turned off, "What's going on here?" WG asked out of suspicion.
Suddenly the lights came back on and everyone jumped out yelling, "Surprise!"
WG jumped a bit and then relaxed when she saw all of her friends had gathered her especially for her, "Oh my gosh, you guys." She stated.
"Happy birthday, WG." Liz stated as she hugged her.
"Did you do this, Liz?" WG asked as she hugged her in return.
"it was my idea but I had help." Liz replied and gestured at her dad.
WG walked up to Fangface and hugged him tightly, "Thank you." She said.
Fangface hugged her back, "You're welcome, WG." He replied, pulled back, and gestured to the rest of the gang, "Go enjoy yourself." He added.
That night everyone had fun, especially WG, who discovered no matter how depressed or upset you are, your friends are there for you always.
The End…
Hope this story cheered you up some, WG, Happy Birthday and don't worry, it's only one year older, at least you're not five years from 40 like me. :-)
