What kind of sound would you call… the way your heart beats.
It's not a thump, and definitely not a knocking sound.
So what is it?
That question had been bothering Alois for some time now. He was trying to think of some poetic way to say it, but it wasn't working out.
"Maybe… Dadam? No, that sounds too weird…"
Suddenly, his attention was caught by a flash of blue in the corner of his eye, turning a corner in the garden. He chased after it, hoping it hadn't heard his rather embarrassing thinking-out-loud.
"Slow down!" He yelled, tackling the thing he was chasing.
"Alois. Get off me, now."
"Oh, hi Ciel. Hehe, sorry!"
Ciel sat up awkwardly in the grass. "Darn, now my shorts have grass stains on them."
"You can borrow a pair of mine." Alois said. Attempts to be friendly often came out as… akward.
"No way. Short-shorts are not for me."
"Hmm… It actually may be a thump?"
"What are you saying?" Ciel said, taken aback by Alois's random statement.
"That's for me to know and you to find out, Earl." He said, walking away happily.
Of course, Ciel didn't need to know that he had intended to say to him, "When I see you, my heart's all like, 'Thump thump'."
