Zuko had settled down to sleep.
It had been a long day of training and now the tired eleven-year-old just wanted a good night's sleep.
"Boy it was cold today or so I was told," he said to himself.
Ever since he was young, Zuko could not feel cold weather. Even in sub-zero temperatures, his breath would come out in the form of flames.
Zuko had not been asleep for two hours when he heard his door open and close, and the pitter-patter of feet and the rustling of his blanket.
"See, I told you he was warm," he heard his sister say.
"What are you guys doing in my bed?" he asked half-sleepily.
"It's cold and we want to share your bed," Ty Lee said.
"But there's four of us. How's this going to work?" Mai asked nonchalently.
"Ooh, I know! Two of us can get under his shoulders and one can straddle him," Ty Lee suggested.
"Hey, don't I get a say in this? It's my bed after all," Zuko protested.
"No, only cold people," Azula said.
Azula then straddled him, wrapping her arms around his waist while Mai and Ty Lee nestled into his shoulders pulling his arms around them.
"Oh come on! No one can sleep like this!" Zuko started to grumble.
He stopped when he saw how peaceful they were and couldn't help but to let it go and kiss them all goodnight.
An hour later he woke to the sound of his door opening and closing again while the sound of larger feet and blanket rustling appeared.
He felt two larger pairs of arms wrap around him.
"Mom? Dad?"
"Hello sweetie. I know this is a little weird but you see father thought sleeping under the stars would be more comfortable," Ursa explained.
"Okay, so I was wrong. But the rumors about Zuko being warm were true so just enjoy," Ozai said.
He wrapped his arms around the children as did Ursa.
"Goodnight son," they said kissing him on the forehead.
"Why me? This is the fourth time this week," Zuko moaned before falling asleep as well.
First things first: a thousand apologies to Matthew Kaiser for posting this at this time! I know I should've have done it earlier but I've been busy since the New Year and only found the time to do this recently. If any inconveniences are caused, I am deeply sorry.
