BEWARE: THIS IS A SPOILER WARNING. THIS STORY CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE TRIALS OF APOLLO. DON'T LIKE? DON'T READ.
A/N: I wrote this when I needed some blind text for my new profile picture (also the cover image of this story). I ship Apollo/Percy since, like, ten minutes – I blame Takara Phoenix and his/her story The Trials of Percy Jackson. I really like this story, it's in my favourite stories.
Disclaimer: Percy Jackson and the Olmypians, Heroes of Olympus and Trials of Apollo are the intellectual property of Rick Riordan. The Trials of Percy Jackson is the intellectual property of Takara Phoenix. I own nothing but this sorry excuse for a plot.
Ever since he had first met Perseus Jackson, the god Apollo had been fascinated by the young mortal. Besides being a powerful demigod, and one of the best swordsmen in centuries, the son of Poseidon also was one of the few heroes who dared to openly defy a god. And who could dislike somebody who had showed Ares where his place was?
Apollo's respect grew when Percy refused Zeus' offer of immortality after the Battle of Manhattan. There was one truly selfless hero. Not to mention that he was friendly, good-looking, no, outright attractive. And adorably oblivious. Apollo was forced to watch when the daughter of Athena snatched the young man he adored away, and he could again do nothing but watch when the son of Hades confessed his feelings to Jackson. It was driving him insane. He had dreamed of the young demigod for years now – a short time for a god, but a long time for a mortal.
Thus, the first person Apollo thought of when his father stripped him from his immortality was, unsurprisingly, Percy Jackson. And, just as Apollo had hoped for, the young man took pity on him and took him to Camp Half-Blood. And, although he had a school to attend and a girlfriend to be with, he accepted when the former god asked him to accompany him on a quest to restore Apollo's godhood. It was during this quest that Percy broke up with Annabeth Chase, and Apollo felt immeasurably guilty for being happy about this while he comforted Percy.
While they travelled through Greece in order to free the Oracle of Delphi from Python, the to-be god and the mortal became friends. After they succeeded, Apollo, to everybody's surprise, refused to become a god again, and instead turned to Percy and confessed his feelings to him, hoping that he wouldn't get rejected. And his hopes fulfilled, because instead of turning him down, Percy Jackson wrapped his arms around the blonde teenager and pulled him into a kiss. And when they pulled away, it was as boyfriends instead of friends.
