Never alone...

Kiyoko was lying idly on the roof of True Cross and staring at the stars and the moon. The half demon girl sighed as she thought about something that her mother told her as a little girl, before she was dragged to Gehenna.

'It's said that every star is a spirit that smiles down on us.' Kiyoko closed her eyes and sighed again.

'I miss you mom.' She sat up as a falcon landed on her leg. Kiyoko gave a sad smile as she petted the falcon.

"Hi Aki." Aki seemed to sense her sadness and cooed in concern for the half demon.

"Hey Kiyoko!" She turned to see Rin standing there. She frowned.

"How long have you been standing there?" He sheepishly grinned and rubbed his head.

"I only just got here." Kiyoko turned away from the other half demon.

"Whatever." Rin frowned. He walked up and sat next to her.

"Hey, what's wrong? Kiyoko?" Kiyoko shifted farther away from Rin, making him lift an confused eyebrow.

"Just leave me alone." She choked out. She had to fight to keep the tears from coming into her voice.

"I just want to be alone." She gasped when Rin touched her shoulder. He offered a little smile.

"I may be dumb, but I can tell that you need someone to talk to right now, Kiyoko." She wiped the tears with the back of her hand.

"I'm used to being alone. I was always told that I was dangerous." She muttered.

"That's bullshit." She gasped and looked at him.

"I know for a fact that you're not dangerous. You have more control over your powers then me."

"Yea, but my flames aren't as strong as yours, Rin. Your fire is like Satan's." Rin scowled.

"I didn't ask to be the son of Satan. Why is everyone making a big deal about that?" Kiyoko frowned and slapped the back of his head.

"You're so thick. They make such a big deal because they're afraid." She sighed and looked down.

"It's like how everyone stays away from me when they find out that I'm the daughter of Bensen. They're scared that I'll lose control of my fire and hurt them." She locked eyes with Rin.

"That's why the Vatican wants my head, and why they want you to fail. You have more power then you think and it could easily end Assiah."

"But I don't want that." Rin replied and Kiyoko sadly smiled.

"I know you don't, Rin, but if you or I lost control, then someone could easily use us as puppets to do whatever they want. The Vatican is afraid of that happening and they will do everything in their power to make sure it doesn't happen and the only way to avoid something like that is to kill us." Rin's scowl deepened and Kiyoko sighed and looked at the stars again.

"My mom didn't care that she would die because of a choice that she made. She wasn't scared of death."

"She sounds like a great lady." Kiyoko chuckled at that remark from Rin.

"She was pretty awesome, but what I find difficult to understand is why she didn't even bother denying that she had a child with a demon."

"I guess you'll never know." Kiyoko looked at Rin, who was looking up at the stars also.

"I think she wasn't ashamed to admit that she had a kid with a demon." Rin stood.

"You know that you and me aren't that different right? I mean, we both were pretty much alone growing up, and-"

"Rin," Kiyoko stood.

"What?" Kiyoko turned to him with a slight smile on her face.

"Shut up. You talk WAY too much." Rin frowned and she chuckled at that as Aki landed on her shoulder. She kissed his cheek.

"Thanks, I needed someone to talk to." With that, she walked away, leaving Rin completely dumbfounded.

"Hey wait! Kiyoko!" She laughed as he scrambled after her.

"Get back here!"

Me: Yup, I seem to be writing Angsty fluff today. I don't get it. Oh well, I tried to keep Rin in character but this is my first in this fandom so I tried, hopefully I didn't fail too epicly. Just to let you know, Bensen is the King of Flames and Kiyoko's dad. Hope you enjoyed, I don't claim Ao No Exorcist.
