Roxas didn't ever want to think about "him". Not now, not in the future, just never. Ever since the incident, Roxas felt hollow without "him". Whenever he thought about "him", he would cry for hours, not moving from the spot for days just sobbing.
"Roxas."
Roxas heard the melodic voice of "him", beckoning to him. He just sat motionless on the bed, feeling the sadness rush over him, overwhelming his mind. He didn't want to hear "his" voice; it caused him to have many more knives stabbing into him.
"Roxas, look at me please."
Roxas lifted his head, hot tears streaming down his cheeks. The person who he didn't want to see was there, standing looking as alive as ever at the foot of the bed, his forest green eyes shimmering. His hair flickered like fire; his smile friendly and affectionate.
The person laughed, "Stop being so sad Roxy, put a smile on your face will yah?"
Roxas was overwhelmed with emotions that he was in "his" chest, bawling his eyes out in a matter of seconds, "I thought you were dead Axel… I thought I'd never see you again."
"Yeah, I'd thought I'd never see you again Roxy." Axel sighed, wrapping his arms around the blond, stroking his hair, "I only have a little bit of time left, and I wanted to spend it with you."
For the last few minutes of Axel's life, the two talked about everything. They laughed, cried, got frustrated.
Having the best few minutes being together.
Then, before Axel had to bid farewell, they shared their last kiss. It felt like an electric current ran through them, rushing through their veins. Roxas wanted this moment to last until the world ended.
It was Axel who ended the kiss. He gave a faint smile, "I have to go now Roxas…"
Roxas's eyes filled up with water. He pleaded, "Stay please! I-I'll be alone once you're gone…"
Axel shook his head, "You won't be. I'll always be here," he rested his fading hand onto Roxas's left breast, "inside your heart."
"But we don't have hearts Axel, you know that." Roxas chuckled, placing his hand ontop of Axel's.
"We do when we're together Roxy. That's where I'll always be."
"In my heart?"
"Yeah, in your heart."
Roxas kissed Axel on the lips to memorize how Axel's lips felt against his. The red-head was completely see-through.
Axel smiled, "Let's meet again, in the next life."
"I will."
With that he was gone.
Roxas felt utterly alone. A void of darkness shrouded him. "I'm alone now, aren't I Axel…" he muttered to himself.
He cried for a long time that night. He thought of how Axel was so beautiful, how his entire aura glimmered in the sun. When it was time for bed, he flopped down onto the bed, closed his eyes, and slept what he wanted to be eternity with Axel in the next life.
