A one shot inspired by the package I received today - I love opening them, it's like getting a present...even though you've ordered and paid for it xD

I don't own these guys.

Tony fast-walked into the bullpen, and upon seeing that Gibbs's desk was currently unoccupied, breathed a small sigh of relief and dropped his bag behind his desk, with a quick glance at his watch. Just on time.

Spying a package on his desk, a huge grin broke out on his face and after swivelling his head around in a quick 360° check for Gibbs, he snatched it up and settled into his chair contentedly.

Ziva and Tim were both watching him curiously, but for once he didn't take up the opportunity to needle them, instead inspecting the package carefully. It was swathed in what seemed to be numerous pieces of brown sticky tape and the SFA set about peeling it off with gusto, the grin adorning his face the whole while.

The sound of ripping tape filled the bullpen for several minutes, and the pile of scrunched tape stuck to Tony's desk grew steadily larger, until finally he pulled the last bit off and crowed in triumph. The packaging had consisted of two separate pieces of cardboard, hence the layers of tape to hold it in place, but Tony was not thinking about the packaging. He pulled out from within the last hurdle - a plastic bag - a box set of DVDs and hugged them to his chest happily as he swiveled around in his chair in celebration.

The looks he had been receiving from his colleagues had moved from curious, to confused, to 'Oh, that explains it' as Tony's prize was revealed and Ziva rolled her eyes with an exaggerated smack to her forehead. "We should have known McGee."

Tim raised his eyebrows wryly. "Yeah, we should've. But Tony," he began, a wrinkle forming between his brows, "you could've just used a knife and slit the tape open from the side."

For a moment, the senior field agent looked dumbstruck, and then he shrugged, placing the box set down on his desk with the utmost care, before pulling the pile of tape off the desk and rolling it into a ball.

"Yeah Probie," Tony grinned, throwing the ball of brown sticky tape into the air and catching it again, "but what would've been the fun in that?"
