Of Law

The countryside is quiet tonight

There's not a party in sight and earshot

The nightlights are flickering with their warm fluorescence

Everything is all in tune with the world at night.

As a couple sits on a bench

Young, young love is in the air.

He takes her hands in his

Promising youthful discretions to come

She kisses him passionately

Then, they heard a scream.

A blood, curdling scream wafts though the air

They hold on to each other

He grabs her hand

Lead her towards the source

They run

They pant

They can smell the gunpowder of the .45 caliber

The blood of a drunken football star

The scent of Mike's Hard Lemonade

The couple screams

They scream for help.

She dials up 911 on her cellular phone.

He manages to stop the bleeding

The other man is still alive

Thanks to his 200 dollar cardigan.

Sirens. They pierce the air with their high calls.

The men and women in brown and blue come

Just in time to save the football-star.

They bring their friends,

The boys and girls in red and white.

They bring him back with their toys.

The men and women in blue and brown question the couple.

Thy cast their magic yellow ribbon over the scene.

To ward off the demons that dares to defile the scene

Two of the blue and browns

One a man dressed brown

Another a woman, dressed in blue

Question the couple back at their refuge of steel and criminals.

She's crying

He's hysterical

But they comfort them

Informing them that had they not gotten to the football star in time

He would have died.

And so, with warm wool blankets

And a pat on the back, they are off.

The man in brown

And the woman in blue

Decide to search the quiet countryside

For any hits on the assailant

From their chariots of white

They roar off

Joined by their friends

Searching every possible scenario

Questioning every person in connection to the victim

Stringing sentences and forming more questions

Which in turn

Leads to more questions than answers

But, it always has a bizarre way of leading back to something

This is the life of Law

The essence of what it is

It is only those who wish to seek them

And to those who wish to hide from them

Beware! So shines their radiance on all that are in need

So shall their radiance be on the damned

The End
