tick tock
One day this fortresses shall crumble into the sea just as the mountains were destined to move and shift.
Where Continents formed and reformed ashen the galaxy floats on.
Weeds shall take over the signs of man. All will fall to ruin and rust. The great Eiffel Tower will fall from neglect just as our statue of liberty holding her torch over Ellis Island.
tick tock
Skyscrapers will crumple and glass will shatter for there will be no more man to repair it. The animals shall find harbor in the carcass of the city.
One by one the feral will weed out the weak. Packs will form on only the strongest as Darwin's rules now apply.
Roads will become non-existent cracked and covered now by weeds. Only remnants of rusty cars shall dot the once busy interstates.
tick tock
Supermarkets will have long been raided from predators.
There will be no blinking lights, no sounds but those of nature. Only the animals, the birds, the rodents, the insect even zoo animals shall roam the city.
Posters fade on walls as the streets are filled with newspapers. A rusty stand holds one encased in a glass sarcophagus that reads Nuclear War.
Humans died but the animals managed to survive just as they have through the ages like Chernobal,Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
tick tock
The city becomes a wild garden. Deer herds can be seen, bear, wild dog,and on down to the smaller animals and birds. It is as if a new Noah's Arc has dropped them off into a world that is now free of man.
The animals flourish. They grow in numbers as the Earth's greatest feats of man crumble. The great dams now have no one to repair and cause irreparable damages. Mount Rushmore is the last to crumble. The gargantuan granite faces slide and crack.
Our history is being erased bit by bit from libraries, schools and churches.
Soon nothing will be left that signifies man was even here. But the animals do not mind. They run through the parks, take refuge in the churches, they drink from the open streams once filled with boats and humans.
tick tock
They begin a rampant re-population. The world now belongs to them. There they thought they had finally found Eden, but man has been here and left behind our man-made items.
The end is soon.
Soon as no human remains to cool the nuclear generators.
