Dally's Funeral

Ponyboy and Sodapop looked at Dally. He was dead, a lifeless body lying there, helpless and fearful. Of course funerals were full of sad incent people but, Dally's…was different. Dally didn't have a great life for one thing. To our surprise Dally's dad came. He only said a couple of words and left. I wanted to slap him across the face, but, I couldn't. The whole gang was there and couple of Dally's old friends. Ponyboy eyes were wet and Soda looked like he was going to puke. Two-Bit was cracking up a joke of course but, it's only because he tries not to get to sad. Steve just sat there in shock, didn't believe it really happened I guess. "Why'd you leave O'Dally? Why'd you leave us?" Ponyboy exclaimed. Sodapop claimed him down, from yelling. Ponyboy cried in the corner of the room. He wasn't too happy. Darry looked at Dallas, worthless old body for a second. He slammed his fist into the edge of the coffin. Darrel got mad at everything. He wasn't sad very much. He was tough and that's why he could handle not being sad. Steve looked up at Darry. "Darry, come on. Don't get all worked up, we can't change what has already happened." Two-Bit sighs and puts his hat on. "I'm going. Anyone want to join?" Steve and Sodapop leave with him. Darry waits for Ponyboy. "Bye Dally…" Ponyboy whispers to his dead body. "I'll see ya soon." Darry opens the door for Ponyboy. Ponyboy walks out and whips the tears off his face. Darry closes the door slowly. "Bye…"
