A friend and I were talking about the gods and Link when we came up with something like this. Then the plot bunny tormented me until I wrote this.
Gods: "You are the reincarnation of a legendary hero, you must stop Gannon!"
Link: "Why don't you guys just kill him?
Gods: "He is too powerful!
Link: "You're gods! You can just zap him! Why do you need me?"
Gods: "..."
Link: "..."
Fanore: "We uh...It's kinda boring watching over Hyurle..."
Din: "and we want entertainment..."
Link: "YOU WHAT!!!"
Nayru: "He's on to us! Kill him!"
ZAP!
Gods: "Hey...why didn't it work?"
Link: "You bestowed me with powers, remember?"
Gods: "Oh...shit."
Link: "Now I'm going to tell everyone about your cruelty!"
Gods: "No! Don't!"
Link: "You can't stop me!"
So link goes off and tells everyone about what the gods are doing. They get angry,and wage war on the gods. They take over, and then kill the gods.
But...
Without the gods, Gannon took over!
Happy ending for Gannon!
