Another one shot… I swear, if my computer stays down much longer, I'm gonna have a whole stack full of things to update. More one shots, more chapters to my story… who knows what could happen? Anyway, I hope you like this story. It was a random spur of the moment thing, so don't be too harsh, 'kay?

By the way, I don't own Naruto. Thought I'd add that in for good measure.

His Betrayal

Thump thump, thump thump.

He felt the blood flow out of his would in a steady waterfall.

Thump thump, thump thump.

His shocked gaze landed on the kunai knife sticking out of his breast.

Thump thump, thump thump.

His gaze slowly turned to the person who had done this to him.

"How… how could you…?" He coughed and spit up blood, splattering it all over himself and his attacker.

"I should be asking the same of you… Sasuke." Bright blue eyes burned their hatred at the dying man. There wasn't a trace of sympathy to be found in them, even as they looked at the bright red pools forming at his feet. "You deserve to suffer."

"Naruto… I just wanted… to be strong… to be strong… to kill my brother…" Sasuke heaved, causing the blood to leak out faster. "… to beat you…"

Fury colored Naruto's face and he lifted his foot up as if to squish a bug. It took all of his self-control to bring it back down. Killing for a reason was one thing, but he would not turn this into cold-blooded murder.

"Did you not think about the pain you were causing Sakura? Did you not think about the betrayal and harm you were bringing to your village? Even if I did believe your story about wanting to beat me, that would not excuse any of this." Naruto was having a hard time breathing. Sweat was pouring off his face quicker and quicker the more he got worked up.

"That is not an excuse. If you were searching for sympathy, you found the wrong man." Naruto turned to walk away, then stopped. "I'd leave you hear to die on your own, but Hokage Tsunade will require your body to confirm your death." He grim smile spread over his taut face. "I think she'll be able to tell it's you, even if it's sliced to pieces and covered in blood. No one can mistake your traitorous face for anyone elses."

Naruto flipped him over unceremoniously and heard him groan as the knife drove itself further into Sasuke's body. "Maybe you'll die faster this way."

Naruto pulled out a piece of a rope and tied Sasuke's hands behind his back. "Just incase you decide to live till we get there." All he got in response was a pain filled grunt.

His feet got tied as well, and Sasuke immediately regretted all of the things he'd done when Naruto heedlessly threw him onto Naruto's back and started through the forest back to the Hidden Leaf Village.

"I'm… so sorry…" Sasuke whispered, unsure if Naruto heard him, but knowing that either way, Naruto would not let him live. In a way, he didn't want to.

It was his betrayal, of all his people, this time.

Yeah, so this one shot was a bit short… it's one of those that just seem right and you don't want to add anything to it even though it's kind of short. I guess I could… but I wouldn't like it as much.

Sasuke might be a bit out of character, but hey, if you knew that everyone you knew that was still alive felt the same type of betrayal you felt when your brother kill your entire family, you'd probably feel sorry too. Not that I'm excusing what he did. I still hate his guts and always will.
