You Found Me
"Hi."
I looked up. It was a boy in my social studies and english classes. I used to talk to him. I used to talk to people, period. Yes, since it's happened, I've had issues. But now, I just ignore people and barely talk. At first, school was hell. Everything was hell. I had to go to a shrink, and I had to see the school guidance counselor everyday. Home was worse. Some kids would make fun of my bruises and call me "Silent One". This boy is one of the people who used to defend me.
Huh.
"Can I sit here?"
I just looked at him, saying nothing in return.
"I'll take that as a yes." He sat down
"So..." His tone implied that he just wanted to be friendly. Still saying nothing, I took a bite of my sandwich. Tuna. Yuck. I put my sandwich in my brown paper bag, then preceded to get up and throw it in the trash can. When I got back, he was still sitting there.
Fang.
Now I remembered his name. Fang Jennings. Definitely cute. Brown, floppy hair, and bright green eyes that you wouldn't believe. Never fit in anywhere. Had one best friend, and a couple of others. Played the guitar. It's all coming back to me now. All the good memories, but also the unwanted ones. And I can't stop the flow.
After the accident, everything got turned upside down. No one knows the truth but me, and I wanted to keep it that way.
"So did you do the social studies homework?" Fang asked, pulling me out of my own world. His tone was light, but pain showed in his eyes.
I took a breath, and before I could stop them, the tears that were welling up in my eyes fell down. Fang came around and sat down next to me, pulling me against him with his arms around me. We sat there for a long time, me and my best friend.
