I wake up and can feel the sadness in the district I want to go back to bed but I cannot. As I start to get up I hear my mom coming up and she is yelling her head off that I am not down in the bakery.

"PEETA YOU BETTER GET DOWN HERE NOW!"

"Ok mother I will be there in a minute" I close my eye just hoping that today was not here because today it the reaping and no one is safe from death. Sense I am from district 12 there are never any winner so if I get picked there is like no chance in me winning. But I force myself to get down to the bakery.

I see my dad down work on some cakes because a lot of people will have a party to be happy that their children are not in The Hunger Games. Just thinking about it gives me the chills.

"Hi dad can I help you with the cakes today" as I say this inside I hope that he says ok because I need to get my mind off.

"yes that would be great son here frost the cakes wail I do the muffins" I am so happy that my dad said that I could go frost the cake that is my favorite thing to do in the bakery. As I am thinking this I see my mother and she does not look so happy.

"Peeta you are running late you need to take a bath and go get chanced in to your nice clothes… it is already 10 and the reaping is at 12"

"Ok mother" As I walk away I am so scared what will happen who will get picked but I have been in the running for 4 years now but it still scares me and I might have not put my name in more times for food like some people in the district. I hear this guy Gale put his name in their 40 something time "wow I would be really scared if I were him" but I don't because I think he likes the girl I like Katniss Everdeen. I have been in classes with her for ever but I don't think she knows who I am. I remember one night a long time ago that I was making bread and I saw my mother yelling at her for looking in a trash for food so I burnt the buns so I could trick my mom and give them to her. So I went over and showed my mother the buns and she yelled at me (all worth it) to feed them to the pigs and I started to but then she went inside I pasted then to Katniss and she ran away.

"Peeta time to go… NOW!"

"ok mother" So I run down stairs and we start to walk
