"Recker! Don't you die on me Recker!" Irish called out. Recker felt his throat. He was speechless.
…
Sergeant Dunn looked down at Recker.
"C'mon, pal. It won't take long. We just get in, take 'em out and get to the extraction point." Dunn whispered.
"Ok then." Recker replied. What's that you say? Recker can't talk? Convenience! I'm telling the story of WHY he can't talk.
"Here, take these tactical binos. Scout the building, check for guards or patrols. Irish, try your best to get a look around the back of the building." Sergeant Dunn said in a serious tone of voice.
"Copy that, Sergeant." With that, Irish began a long run down the hill and round the back of the building, his binos close to his chest as he ran.
"What do you see?" Dunn whispered.
"I got two guards, either side of the door. No one's watching them, they'll be easy targets. I see a couple guys patrolling the grounds on the ground floor, and our jackpot up top. No one covers the intel."
"Great." Dunn smiled casually. He picked up his mobile radio.
"Irish, what you got?" He spoke slowly into the receiver.
"I g- ouple guy- out bac-" Came the reply in a low static.
"Damn toy equipment. I can't wait until they get some of that new stuff the marines got their hands on."
"Too right, Sergeant." Recker replied.
…
Recker whistled. The Chinese infantry turned on his heels and raised his weapon, all in one swift movement.
"Come out!" He said in his home dialect. While the guard wasn't looking, Dunn came round the other side with his M9 bayonet and took down the other guard. Recker then flew out from cover and popped two suppressed shots into the infantryman. One in the heart, one in the head. The guard dropped down with a dull thud and landed in some shrubs, giving makeshift cover in case anyone came out. Dunn made a distinct hand motion, radioed Irish with a short message of 'Do it.' And pushed the door open.
…
Recker pulled out his M4 Carbine and popped shots all over the floor, with Dunn on his flank and Irish infiltrating the back entrance. The guards were down in a few volleys.
