A/N: Just a little bit of silliness to stop from feeling so bored. Future fic, with a Jisbon baby (all grown up!) so really, only fluff.

'One True Love'

This day was a difficult one for Patrick Jane. Other people wouldn't understand how scared he was for his loved one, how much he feared something would happen to them. Not even his wife supported him enough to lift his spirits. She had just squeezed his arm and had told him not to be so childish.

"Mirai, just be careful alright."

Jane was shaking in his metaphorical boots as he sat beside her, instinctively fingering his silver wedding band. He would have expected his teenage daughter to tease him mercilessly, but he had hoped his wife would have been more considerate of his feelings.

"And Jane, just calm down."

"I will save my judgment of this situation until I am safely back home with my tea."

Lisbon rolled her eyes but waved a kiss to both of them, before she took a few steps back and folded her arms, watching in amusement, anticipating the situation to unfold hilariously before her eyes.

"Oh… o-okay, just… put the key in the contact."

She looked at him with an annoyed look that told him this was going to take a while.

"Dad."

"I have never done this before either, alright. I was born able to drive."

She chuckled and did what he told her, but it didn't do enough to calm down his nerves.

Didn't Teresa Lisbon understand how important his Citroen was to him? Not as important as she was, nor Mirai, but it was an easy third.

"Just promise me you will not ruin this car."

"I can't make any promises, Dad. But I will try my best not to ruin your car."

As she adjusted the seat, Jane rolled down the window, and Lisbon stepped towards them almost worried.

"Just put up the kettle already."

She smirked. "Why?"

"Because she's a child of ours. She'll get the hang of this within minutes." A little bit of fake confidence, he knew.

Lisbon smiled and stepped away. "Alright. You two have fun."

As Mirai pulled out of the parking spot and onto the little deserted road that led to their cabin, Jane wondered if he was ever going to see his beloved Citroen in one piece again.

~...~

This day was a good day for Teresa Lisbon. Her daughter would finally get to drive, which she had wanted to do for so long, and her husband would be shown once again how amazing their daughter actually was. Not to mention that she could act out a little bit of revenge on him, seeing as he decided he would be the best one to teach Mirai, while everybody knew Lisbon was a much better driver.

She heard the front door open and smiled as she walked out to meet them. Mirai, as expected, had a bright smile on her face, hugging her mother and telling her all about how much she had loved doing that.

"Where's your dad?"

Mirai merely pointed at Jane, who was walking around the Citroen to check for any injuries.

"Next time, we'll take my car."

"We'll? Teresa, I did a fine job of being a driving instructor. Should change careers. I was just checking to see if my Citroen is still in fine shape."

Lisbon grabbed Mirai's hand and guided her inside. "Let's just leave Dad with his one true love. We'll have some tea."
