Roxas and Namine walked near the tall walls of the kingdom of Twilight's castle.

Namine took in the lovely sent of pine from the nearby forest (said to be forbidden due to gypsies) while white doves, strangely common in the area, flew over their heads. "It's such a lovely day, isn't it, Roxas?" she asked while she clung to her lovers arm.

"Yeah, it sure is. Hopefully it doesn't rain again."

"Don't jinx it," the duke Ansem's daughter laughed.

The couple stood there for a few minutes just gazing at the beautiful city and forest before them. Namine and Roxas had been together for a year now and Namine was beginning to doubt whether Roxas wanted to marry her or not. Her sister Kairi had been married to Roxas' brother Sora for two years and they couldn't be happier. Namine was envious. She was about to have her twenty first birthday in six months and she still had no ring. It was tradition in the city of Twilight to be wed by a person's twenty first year.

'Roxas... don't you want to be with me forever?' Namine suddenly became crestfallen as she buried her head into her lover's shoulder.

Roxas didn't seem to notice.

The two now sat at the top of the clock tower to watch the sunset like always. Though they hadn't been able to do it for a few weeks because of all the rain showers.

Roxas licked his sea salt flavored ice cream bar and watched the white doves become mere shadows as they flew in front of the bright sun.

He smiled at the beauty, before he heard Namine sigh and take her head off his shoulder. "Namine? What's wrong?" he put his hand to her shoulder as she faced away from him.

"It's nothing... I guess..."

Roxas became skeptical. He frowned, waiting for her to open up.

"It's just..." she turned back to him with her big, blue eyes that he fell in love with years ago. "Don't you love me?"

He looked insulted by the question. "What? Of course I do. How could you even ask such a thing?"

"I'm sorry, I guess I've had my doubts drift a little too far." she turned away again.

"What doubts?"

She didn't say anything for a while. "My birthday is coming soon..."

"Yeah?"

"My twenty first birthday..." she noted.

"Okay? What about it?"

Namine sighed again, realizing he didn't get it. She turned back to him and smiled. "Never mind, just thinking aloud." She laid her head back onto his shoulder trying to forget the entire conversation until she heard Roxas give a faint laugh that made her look up at him skeptically. "What is it?"

"Nothing, it's just... well..." he suddenly reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, black box. "I was waiting for the perfect moment to do it, but..." he turned back to face her and gave a small smile.

She gasped once he opened it up to reveal a small, modest ring with a crystal clear diamond in the center. "Roxas..."

"Namine, will you marry me?" he asked as he felt tears beginning to well in his eyes.

Namine tried to wipe away her own tears, but it was hopeless at this point. "Yes... I will."

Roxas graciously placed the ring on her delicate finger before he clasped her whole hand in his large, calloused ones. He put his forehead to his fiances and stared at her perfection as he let his body take over and kiss her like it was the first time.

The sun set before them, not even noticing while they enjoyed the moment in life they'd always remember.
