It was a long summer. Emma felt that she finally got to a level of normalcy. She had been with Peter the entire summer and although it was new she really liked him, at least she kept telling herself that. It was almost time for school to be back in session, and shed conquered her anorexia issue thus far. She had discovered that knitting had taken her mind off the situation. Today was Peters birthday. She had knitted him a new hat for a present, not much but it had feeling. Peter came over and they walked down to the Dot for a little birthday celebration. Just as they began talking, Peters dad pulls up in his brand new car. Peter turned with disgust, it seemed to Emma that it was more jealousy of the fact that he had no car. They walked outside to meet his dad, and after some what of a lengthy talk, Peters dad gave peter the car, and said it was to be his birthday present. Emma and Peter both were shocked and for once Emma had a feeling of happiness. They hoped in the car and took it for a spin. They ended up in a park and, Emma couldn't help but feel jealous oh how happy Peter seemed. She would kill to feel that now.
Peter parked the car and turned and said, "I am the luckiest guy." Just then a too familiar voice floated into Emma's hears. "Emma." "Sean," was it really him, what was he doing here. She got out of the car and walked over to him and he explained that he was sleeping on Jay's couch . She very politely introduced Peter as her boyfriend and Peter, feeling out of sorts, put his arm around her shoulders. " yea so guess, I'll see you guys at school?" Wait hold up did she just hear right. "Your back at Degrassi?" and there it was the first smile she had in half a year.
