Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Steamy Sodor" from Season 13. Enjoy and comment.

All the engines on the Island of Sodor are really useful. They always listen to instructions and do as they are told.

Sometimes the engines get jobs that they haven't done before. but always make sure to be really useful when doing their jobs.

One morning, Sir Topham Hatt came to Tidmouth Sheds.

"Thomas, you are going to look after the Steam-Works while Victor is at the Transfer Yards." he said.

Thomas was excited.

"Victor will tell you all you need to know." added in Sir Topham Hatt, "Make sure you listen carefully."

"Yes sir!" said Thomas as he puffed proudly away.

Victor was waiting for Thomas at the Steam-Works.

"Hello my friend! This is a big day for you! The Steam-Works is going to be very busy."

"I like being busy!" tooted Thomas.

"That's good my friend. Now, when an engine comes in, you need to listen carefully to find out what their problem is. If you need help, ask Kevin."
But Thomas wasn't listening! He was way too excited to be looking after the Steam-Works!
"Don't worry Victor! I know exactly what to do!"

Without another word said, Victor puffed off, leaving Thomas to do his important job.

First, Spencer steamed into the Steam-Works. His silver paint was all rusted.

Spencer was surprised to see Thomas.

"Where's Victor?" asked Spencer.
"He's at the Transfer Yards today." explained Thomas. "I'm in charge!"

Spencer was worried.

"You look all rusted!" said Thomas.

Then, Kevin wheeled over

"I need you Kevin to put Spencer up on the hoist!"

Kevin was worried.
"Are you sure Thomas? All he needs is a repaint and a polish."

But Thomas wasn't listening to Kevin.

"Please put him on the hoist Kevin!"

So Kevin put Spencer onto the hoist.

Next, Henry chuffed in. He had fallen ill.
Henry was surprised to see Thomas.

"What are you doing here Thomas?" asked Henry.

"Victor is at the Transfer Yards today." explained Thomas. "I'm in charge!"

Thomas knew exactly what was wrong with Henry.

"You have been given the wrong coal!"

Henry gasped.

"Kevin, please give Henry some Welsh coal. That will make him feel better."

Kevin went over to get Henry the Welsh coal.

Next, James pulled in. His funnel was jammed.

James was surprised to see Thomas.

"What are you doing here Thomas?" asked James.

"Victor is at the Transfer Yards today." explained Thomas. "I'm in charge!"

"My funnel is jammed and I can't puff!"

Kevin rolled over with the special Welsh coal for Henry.

"James needs a new funnel!"
"I don't need a new funnel!" snapped James. "I need this stuff out of my funnel!"
But all Thomas was doing was causing confusion and delay.

Then there was trouble, Kevin accidently hit a button, causing Spencer to be lifted high into the air!

"What is happening!" screamed Spencer.

Worse was to follow! Kevin was in a rush, that he dropped Henry's special Welsh coal! Coal dust spluttered everywhere!
Then, with a crash and a bash, Kevin bumped right into James causing him to derail!

James was so cross, that he blew dust all over Victor.
Everyone was covered from buffer to boiler in coal dust!

"What has happened to the Steam-Works?!" asked Victor.

Thomas was depressed.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause all this confusion and delay. I just wasn't listening!"

Victor smiled.

"That's good that you told the truth, but what are we going to do about our friends?"

"I'll make sure that all of you are fixed properly!"

Soon, all the engines were repaired. Spencer was repainted, Henry's firebox was repaired, and James's funnel was unclogged.

All the engines were pleased.

Thomas had learned that you should listen to others, so you know what's wrong with them.
