Silence.
Not a sound echoed as Aerith layed amongst the field of small flowers. The sound of his steady breathing could be gently heard amongst the wind as it chimed through the field.
Calm.
A rare sight to see him in. He was always so tense but watching him now, he seemed so at peace… it almost seemed so natural. Why? Aerith asked herself. What was different about today? Why could he be so at peace now but among others so strife stricken?
Love.
Aerith adored the way he slept so calmly besides her. They were both lying on their sides, their bodies close… but not yet touching. They didn't need to be… just being this short distance from him was more than she could ask for.
Absence.
He was gone for so long that Aerith almost forgot how it felt to be near him. To see his bluest of blue eyes gazing at her the way he always used to… in a way with such tenderness Aerith couldn't help but blush. She was afraid she would forget those simplistic attributes she loved so much about him, but now that he was here again, she only felt the adoration in her heart grow fonder.
Fear.
Even now, as she watched him sleep, she couldn't help but feel fear… fear for the dreaded moment where he would tell her that he would have to leave again. She hoped that moment would never come again, but she knew if he had to, she would wait a thousand years for him to return to her again.
Hope.
As she looked upon his sleeping face, she could still sense the scars that darkened him. She hoped he would let her help sooth those scars, maybe, it was a good sign he was here with her now. He didn't have to come back, but he did. It was a sign, that however many scars he had, she would try and heal them no matter what.
Pain.
When he was gone, the immense pain from missing him was so strong it would linger on her heart, aching every moment of every day. But now that he was here next to her, she could feel that pain subsiding. She wondered… if the pain in him was lessening, too.
Clincher.
It wasn't until she felt his hand gently grasp her own, pulling it towards his body as he still lay there asleep peacefully that she finally realized, that he needed her just as much as she needed him. She felt tears begin to form, her jade eyes glazing over softly. The gentle hold he had on her hand made her heart soar. She didn't know whether or not he would ever leave again, nor when it would happen, but his touch proved to her that no matter what… he would always come back to her.
the end.
Okie-dokie... random random. I know. But I just wanted something different, ye know? I can't lie the inspiration for this came from one of my fav KH 1 themed Cleris fanarts. It's of them lying side by side, and Cloud's holding her hand as she's crying. It's just so pretty. T_T
reviews and favs are epic. :3
