And the story of the "smart" idea to take a walk in the dark woods…

If you didn't know… we're geniuses.

Chapter 1

"-and be a sister to every Girl Scout." We all finish the Girl Scout pledge in a somewhat unified chorus, standing around the flag pole.

It's the first day of summer camp, a whole two weeks on the camp grounds, as if that won't get boring. On the Brightside it's a beautiful place to be, tall trees like skyscrapers surrounding the boarder of the camp, a ton of wildlife around –including the fly Sally accidently swallowed- like raccoons that dig in trash cans, and the bears that think we can't see them when they slip behind trees and cover their faces.

And the cabins we spend our nights in, are relatively cozy except for the fact that we end up sleeping on moldy mats. As for the bugs that end up in your sleeping bag, just tell yourself their little adorable bunnies crawling around your legs, well, the roaches are about the size of bunnies.

And if you hear someone talking in the middle of the night… it's Kayla. And the farts, well that's a group orchestra.

And for the mornings, Sally and Nina's hair frizz out making them look like eighty's pop stars with the colored afro's, but the real monstrosity is what our parents turn into without their morning OJ.

"ALRIGHT LADY'S!" and that would be our wake up call. The Meany lady Ms. Dunglap.

Of course she was assigned our camp, and the meanest girls were given ladies who shower you with candy and food that goes to your thighs. Let's see them in two months when they can't get into their skinny jeans, roles hanging out… karma. Ok well back to the mean scary lady.

"TODAY WE'LL BE MAKING PAPER FLOWERS TO DECORATE YOUR CABINS FOR THE ANNUAL COMPETION OF DECORATION." Does she really have to yell? As she walked away I reviewed what we had done in my head.

Troop 10179 REALLY wanted to win, so we went all out, we went to the girl scout store here in camp and we spent half our troops account money but what we purchased was very extravagant. We had streamers hanging down from the wooden rafters. Neon flowers made of fabric and plastic and stuck them to the walls. We also bought a pink rug that was made of alpaca fur.

Tabby had her bed closest to the door, next was Kayla, then Nina, in a separate row of two was Sally across from tabby, and Olive across from Nina.

We also got 5 bed sets in all different colors. Tabby's was neon yellow striped with black, Kayla's was neon green in cheetah print, Olive's was blue with a plaid pattern, Nina's was red with black hearts, and Sally's was a funky mixture of random colors and designs from a thrift store.

And we each had a stuffed animal from Winnie the pooh. Tabby had Tiger, Kayla had Piglet, Olive had Eeyore, Nina had pooh bear, and Sally and the Hefalump.

We know we're going to win this competition for sure… well we thought until we saw the shining blue ribbon…. On the mean girls cabin. They won because their rich… that's why we should be friends with them… ok that's a little self-centered but they're not smart enough to notice what we're up to.

So that night we went to bed in our decked out cabin sad and disappointed, until tabby turned on her flashlight, and told the story that would change us forever…

Chapter 2
