I sat at the table, eagerly awaiting my food. I was enjoying myself here, watching football while my mom and Annabeth cooked Thanksgiving dinner. The sweet smells drifted across my nose, and I immediately knew that I was happy, perfectly satisfied, in fact.
You might be wondering why we were all here. It was Thanksgiving break, which meant that neither Annabeth nor I had school. We had notified Chiron, so we were under the camp's protection, whatever that is. After all, you really can't get two powerful demigods and a mortal who can see through the Mist in a house for so long without attracting monsters. I was actually pretty surprised that some dracaena hadn't already crawled in through the window. Apparently, Chiron's protection was strong.
Annabeth's dad was at their house, still working on some kind of war model. Paul was buying cranberry sauce, as apparently, you can't have a delicious Thanksgiving dinner without some.
A voice calling shook me out of my trance. "Percy! Dinner is ready!" Annabeth called. Just then, Paul entered the room and hurriedly prepared the cranberry sauce.
"Perfect timing!" laughed my mom.
We sat down at the table to enjoy the best Thanksgiving ever. All that mattered right now, was that I was surrounded by friends and family, and I was happy.
