Soft blonde hair,
Barely there.
Much like a small skittish rabbit,
Unseen, unheard…
Bright innocent blue eyes
You cannot help but trust…
But also want to save.
She's the farmer's daughter,
His youngest baby.
He, the dirty redneck nobody seems to want around,
But cannot help need.
It seemed like a faraway thought,
The two made such an odd pair.
He scared her,
She annoyed the hell outta him.
All it really took to bring them together, was her father's death,
And the fall of their home.
Losing everything in the flames and losing it to the dead.
He was willing to die for her,
She just needed to connect to somebody.
The unlikely pair set off,
On a path that zigzagged,
Went up and down,
Sideways and backwards,
Only to lose the other in a fight against the dead.
"Go Beth!"
The blonde seemed doubtful to survive without the dirty redneck.
But she is strong.
He has been the rock she needs to become a woman.
Barely 19 years old.
It seems very wrong, as he requites with the woman.
She looks just so pleased to see him.
One wrong move and both are dead.
As he finally gets to have her by his side,
She makes a quick choice to save others from the wrath of a monster.
Blood spatters and her beautiful blonde hair is dying red.
Her body has fallen to the ground,
Wrong angles claim her legs and arms.
Tears seem to blind him as he draws his weapon.
Another gunshot and the monster is falling.
The sad dirty redneck seemed to only want everyone there dead.
How could somebody kill such an innocent person?
So naïve,
So kind,
So sweet…
She is simply Beth,
And now no longer is his rock.
It seemed on their small walk down the path,
She became his rock as he was hers.
And she's gone.
Just how is supposed to go on?
He needed to let go.
No redneck was supposed to have anything nice.
Which is why, everyone he cares for,
Ends up dead.
It is only a matter of time,
Before the family he has made,
Too must go.
As he steps out into the light of the hot day,
Cuddling his precious blonde companion close,
He must put on his mask.
For they have all seen too much.
He cannot cry,
He will NOT cry!
Beth would not want him to cry and would simply want him to be happy.
