The time had come, the moment you had been thinking in the whole day. You really didn't want to go to that party because you knew that all the people that would be there are people that you don't like to be with, or just can't simply stand them. But you had to go, for your friend. It was her birthday and you needed to be with her, even though she wouldn't have time to be with you or talk for only a few minutes you knew that you had to go, for her.
You step out of the shower, and pick a dress from your closet, it is easy to choose beacause you only own two dresses as you are not a party girl at all. You pick your shoes, and make sure you don't forget anything else so you are ready to leave.
You get inside the cab. There are lots of thoughts in your mind right now, and feelings. Regret? Sadness? Fear? You let out a bigh sigh escape your lips. You have arrived. There is no going back once inside. It is actually a very fancy place but you can't focus on that tonight. I mean, how are you supposed to survive the night? Whatever. You decide that you will stay for a while, maybe a couple hours, and when you get tired enough then you'll leave and go home. The party hasn't even started, there are a few people you recognize but don't like.
You just walk in the room and everybody starts whispering and turns to look at you. You start wondering if something with your dress is wrong or something but then stop caring about it. As you walk past them you start thinking how selfish and popular and fake they are. You let out a low sarcastic huff. You find a seat in one of the corners of the room but there is just two people in front of you and they don't seem to care. People start arriving and you get nervous, all the girls are wearing 20 inch high heels, you are wearing a pair of flat-like shoes and you feel awkward. The reason you don't wear heels is because you get tired easily with them and they hurt your feet a lot. You prefer your black ballerinas, they are comfortable and simple.
After an hour you start getting tired, you need to stretch your legs just a little and make time so you go to the hallway walk a few minutes and then go back inside. You realize that someone has taken your seat so you just go and pick your purse and find another place to sit on. The night looks endless, every second seems to last an eternity, you start getting a bit crowded and you are bored there are two couples kissing in some sofas near you and you are starting to get uncomfortable. You tell yourself that in 15 minutes you will go home. The music is so loud and you are getting sleepy, you just look at your drink with heavy eyes, then you hear a voice and see someone standing there besides you. You look up and see him, the most handsome guy you have ever seen, he is tall, and his cheekbones are so sharp. Offering you his hand for you to take it, he asks "excuse me, would you dance with me?" his accent is so british. You smile, sarcastically. You turn around to see if this is a joke or something, but there is no one laughing or staring at you. "Sorry I don't dance" You reply. "I think that there is nothing that can not be taught" he says. You don't want to be rude but you are just not in the mood for dancing right now. You low your head, you have made your final decision. You are about to thank him for the invite, politely telling him to go away but then you look up and see his smile and his eyes, those eyes. Unconsciously you blurt out "Okay".
