The Only Two People on Earth
"JAMES POTTER YOU RUIN EVERYTHING!" said Lily running from the Great Hall. 'Worst Christmas Ball ever!' thought Lily.
She couldn't even make it to the Heads Common Room, so she plopped down on the stairs next to her. Not bothering to hold in the tears, Lily looked like a wreck. Her mascara was running, her crimson-colored hair was falling from the beautiful bun Lily had worked for two hours, not bothering to use magic, and her lovely off the shoulder emerald green dress was wrinkled from clutching it.
'I hate him!' thought Lily. 'No. I don't. I can't hate him. WHY CAN'T I HATE HIM! Well, maybe because you have a crush on him.' "No! No! No! Don't think like that, Lily, you hate him!" Lily accidently thought aloud. Her eyes widened as she saw who was standing before her. James Potter. Her heart went a thousand miles an hour as she thought of what to do. 'I could run or slap him or step on his fo-' Her thoughts were interrupted when James sat down beside her. "I'm really sorry Lily. I shouldn't have done that, but Adam was about to snog you and a guess I got –. " "Jealous." "Yes, jealous." "It's okay I forgive you. To be honest I didn't really fancy him and Ireallydidn't want to snog him." said Lily. "Then um…why did you yell at me, storm out, sit here and cry?" "Because James I want to hate you, dislike you, despise you, loathe you." "We get the point." "Anyway, But I can't, and no matter how much I try it stays that way I get so confused and frustrated with myself because I don't know what to do I just, well cry and to make matters worse my parents just died in a death eater attack two weeks ago and my sisters engaged to a whale that hates me." said Lily letting everything she'd kept inside of herself that year out. "A whale?" asked James "Well he looks like one." They both started laughing. "Wait what do you mean you can't hate me?" asked James. "I…I really, really like you, James and I can't help it. Don't get me wrong I loathed you before this year, but you changed. I finally found the nice, sweet guy inside of you. You deflated your head. Your smart, funny, and handsome." said Lily. "Well…then…um…will you…uh…go out with me?" "Yes, yes, yes." replied Lily.
They looked into each other's eyes and leaned towards one another. Their lips pressed against each other and fit perfectly. James put his hand on the back of Lily's head, as did Lily. They finally broke apart. All Lily could do was smile. James held out his hand and Lily took it. "Oh! Hold on." said Lily, taking out her wand and fixing her hair, make-up, and dress.
Lily re-took James hand and they made their way back to the Great Hall, as a new couple. Practically everyone in the Hall had their eyes on James and Lily, even the teachers, but they both ignored it. James led Lily onto the dance floor. Right on cue a slow song started. James put both hands around Lily's waist and she put hers around his neck. The Great Hall was still watching them, but they didn't even notice. For at that moment they were the only to people on earth.
