It was now a legal marriage. Official papers bearing their signatures. Would she regret it? Oh, probably, a few years down the road. But, for now, she was blissfully happy; lying sprawled on the bed, staring at the ceiling.
Off in the distance, she heard the wail of someone who was very small and helpless. Did it matter? Not at the moment. She must stay in bed, being blissfully happy.

The crying of the small someone had stopped; and she was still in bed, with the small someone next to her. He'd, out of annoyance, placed the infant on the bed. Well, no matter; she was still blissfully happy. She had her child, her husband, and all the time in the world to just lie there, being blissfully happy.
Her mother and father had a blissfully happy marriage. That was what she wanted, was it too much to ask? She didn't think so.

Now her husband was lying next to her, whispering "Lizzie?" over and over. Shush! Being blissfully happy requires complete silence.
"What?" She says, caving in.
"I love you."
Now she was utterly, completly, blissfully happy.
