Title: Extreme
Drabble: #18
TK's prompt: Shrubbery
Randomly selected pairing: Jyouyako
Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon.
Notes: I've got the most adorable image of Jyou kneeling in front of a bush with a hat and gardening gloves and a pair of shears.

Miyako was an action person; she liked to get things done, preferably having fun on the way. Thrills such as bungee-jumping and sky-diving were on her list of things to do before she died, and when she got bored she liked to engage in extreme sports whenever it was possible to do so. She was always up for a challenge too, wanted to be pushed to her limits so she could take steps to extend them. She never liked boundaries anyway; they made everything rather boring.

Jyou was quite the opposite. He couldn't be considered a thrill-seeker by any stretch of the imagination, and the closest he ever got to doing anything risky was when he didn't bother to wash his hands before he cooked something. He preferred the calmer, and therefore safer, side of life, hence his life philosophy being that it was always better to be safe than sorry; his comfort zone didn't go much further than reading or gardening.

This was something which often got on Miyako's nerves; yes, she loved Jyou and his flaws, but that didn't make it any more exciting when she indulged herself in extreme sports alone.

She toyed with the idea of going on a hiking holiday at one point, and her curiosity was roused when she wondered whether Jyou would go with her. Hiking wasn't too extreme for him, surely? And he had mentioned once that he'd always been a good climber, so…

She found him pottering about in the garden and strode over with an air of hope, announcing her intentions without hesitation.

Unfortunately, Jyou's reaction wasn't quite what she wanted. He stammered for a moment at the suggestion before immersing himself in the bush he'd been attending to beforehand. He wasn't built for hiking. Besides, climbing and hiking were completely different things, and this shrubbery was really in need of attention and care.

Miyako sighed; she should have known. She loudly expressed her displeasure before going back indoors; she'd book it anyway. Tell him they were going to a flower festival, or something.
