Isobel Garcia stood in line at her favorite book store, holding the newest book by Dr. Lawrence. Bouncing on the balls of her feet she looked around the store, her eyes landing on a tall lean man in the corner with short brown hair. He too had a copy of the book biting her lip she steps from the line walking over to him.
"Hello, are you a fan too?" the man turned his brown eyes lit with excitement, her breath hitched in her throat. He had a gentle smile on his lips.
"I am actually; my name is Dr. Spencer Reid." Her eyes widened in shock.
"The doctor Spencer Reid? From the BAU?" His smile never faulted but he did look shock that she knew him.
"Yes I am actually; do you work for bureau as well?" she smiled sweetly at him tucking a lock of blond hair behind her ear.
"I actually work in the CIA. But I do classified things." She said cheekily.
"Well miss CIA may I know your name?"
"It's Isobel Garcia."
"As in Penelope Garcia from the BAU?" she laughs throwing her head back softly.
"Yes actually she is my cousin. She has told me all about you, boy wonder." She giggles looking him over. "And her chocolate god as well." Reid laughed at that one, he always knew Garcia couldn't control herself when it came to Derek Morgan.
"Well she never mentioned she has family, let alone a cousin the CIA."
"Penny's mom and my mom never got along, so I didn't really get to know Penny as well as I do now."
"Do you have family?"
"I do, I have a twin sister, her name is Avery, Aberdee my younger sister and Helix, the baby of the family he lives in Nevada with my mother. What about you Dr. Reid have any family?" the way she purred his name caused him to blush brightly and look away.
"I do, a mom and dad, who both live in Nevada as well."
"So let me guess a Vegas boy? You have the bags under your eyes like my aunt Sue did from growing up next to the strip."
"Actually I am." He laughs gently. "But it's because I work a lot that I have the bags under my eyes actually." He says sheepishly, her smile slips from her face.
"I have heard some of the cases actually, I am sorry you all have to deal with that." She placed her hand on his arm softly, her eyes full of remorse blushing like a mad man Reid blurts out the first thing that comes to mind.
"Want to hear some facts on the ways eyes change during emotions?" smiling slightly Isobel drops her hand.
"I would but I am meeting Penny in a little bit to eat some lunch, want to join us?"
"No thank you, but you two have fun. I'm going to just pay for my stuff and head home." A look of disappointment flitted across her face, but she quickly recovered it with a small smile.
"Maybe next time." Setting her book on the table she turns to leave, waving at him she rounds the corner. Smiling to himself he looks down at the book she set there. She didn't pay for it, he mused picking it up. Inside was a note meant for him.
Maybe we can have a lunch date all on our own, say tomorrow?
Also attached was her phone number. Grinning slightly, he pockets the letter paying for both his books and hers he exits the book store, slipping his phone from his pocket he texts the number he memorized in the first glance.
See you tomorrow café near the bureau, around 12:30?
His phone beeped not even a minute later.
Sounds perfect can't wait.
Smiling the whole to his car Reid knew today was going to be a good day, maybe even a good week.
