This is just a short one shot to explain a few differences between Last Of The Time Lords and Kiss, Kiss, Bang Bang. My sister helped with this. Please let me know what you think.
The Hours Between
Captain Jack Harkness ran into the Hub calling for his team. "Gwen, Owen, Tosh, Ianto, I'm back!" Only silence greeted him. He looked around slowly. He starts to see what it was that he really missed during the year that never happened. Was it Gwen and the way that she smiled, or was it Ianto and his way of making him always feel like he was at home, or was it all of them and this place. He had just walked away from the opportunity to travel with the Doctor so that he could come back and claim responsibility for this team of his.
Jack grabbed a cup of coffee on his way over to Tosh's computer in search of a clue as to where they all might be in the middle of the afternoon. He kept thinking that he wished Ianto was here to make the coffee he liked most of all. As Jack got to the computer, he had the cup halfway to his mouth when he read the Alert from the monitor that the rift had been active again. He missed his mouth and spilled the coffee on his light blue dress shirt. The shirt he had taken from the wardrobe in the Tardis after his other one was shot and stabbed beyond repair. Jack jumped back and yelled "HOT".
In truth he felt a little strange that he had done that so he headed down to his room to change into one of his signature dark blue shirts before going back to Tosh's computer and looking up the current location of the SUV. As he watched them chasing something, he knew that he had to try and figure out where they would end up. He then left the Hub at a run, knowing that he needed to catch up to the team before whatever had come through the rift had a chance to hurt anyone.
He also knew he would have some explaining to do once he caught up with the people he had walked out on in order to get the answers he had spent over 100 years waiting for. He now had the answers he needed and it was time to put the past behind him. But most of all, he was going to have to make sure that Gwen and Ianto both knew how he felt and that it was because of the team that he came back.
