Try the Other Way
A/N: Wow. It's amazing what you think of when you're not actually thinking. This is based on a true story that happened to me…when I was 10.
Summary: Jan CBPC. Angela is stuck somewhere, but why is the solution so damn obvious?
Disclaimer: I humbly acknowledge that I don't own Bones.
Angela sat there and sat with a small stick in her hand. She couldn't believe it. She could not believe it. Two small pink lines ran across the stick. She was pregnant. With Hodgins' baby. Angela stood up and reached for the lock on the stall door. She just had to go tell him. Oh she could just imagine the look on his face when she told him! She turned the lock and frowned. She turned it again. The door wouldn't budge.
"Why won't it move?" she asked herself. She pushed on the door again.
Oh this is just perfect, she thought. "Here I am, I just found out I'm pregnant, I want to go tell my fiancée, and I'm stuck in a freaking bathroom stall."
Angela sat down on the lid of the toilet and sighed. Why did it have to happen to her? And why now? She stood up and tried the lock again. It's still wouldn't move.
Having no other option, she took in as much breath as she could and screamed.
"BRENNAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she yelled. She sat down on the toilet again and caught her breath, just as she heard the bathroom door open.
"Ange?" asked Brennan from the other side of the door.
"Bren!" Angela stood up and called to her friend.
"I didn't know you could scream so loud."
"It's one of my many talents."
"Ange, are you alright?"
"No. I'm stuck in this stupid stall." Brennan laughed. "It's not funny Bren! I need to get out of here!" Angela passed Brennan the pregnancy test under the door.
"Ohhh," said Brennan.
"Now will you help me?"
"Did you try turning the lock Angela?"
"Yes. I've tried it three times."
"Try turning it the other way."
Angela sighed, but turned the lock to the left instead of the right.
"Lefty-loosey, righty-tighty!" she said to herself when it turned. "Duh!" She opened the door and hugged her friend. "Thank you Bren!"
"No problem. Do you want this back?" Brennan held out the stick.
"Yes!" Angela hugged Brennan one more time. "I have to talk to a bug and slime guy now." Brennan smiled as she watched her friend bounce off to the platform. The answer was so obvious.
A/N: Yes, something like that really did happen to me (except I have never been pregnant). And the solution was really that obvious. Turn it the other way.
