Sometimes I really wonder is there any reason for my existence anymore. I sleep at nights with my eyes open and walk my days without seeing. Since I lost you, I have been living without purpose. You got your body back, but are you happy? Are you smiling at the other side? Do you even remember me anymore? I still remember how you used to walk beside me, calling me. "Ni-san"
It is evening and I hear Alfonse breathing heavily on the other bed. He shares your name, your looks, but he never calls me his brother. Mostly I'm glad I can see you in him, even though you two are nothing alike. But during the nights, I wish I could see the real you. I lift my arm up, the arm I gave up for you. If I close my eyes, I can see you reaching towards me. We can almost touch like this, but when I open my eyes again, I can't even see the roof through my tears.
Maybe it would be better, if you would not remember me. Then at least you could live without this sorrow. Do you blame me for all this? For losing your body and when you regained it, you lost your only family. We both lost it.
Is it night or day out there? Are you with Winry, or alone, searching for the red stone? Do you think of me sometimes? Are you searching for ways we could meet?
I know this world is a world without alchemy, but instead there are lots of different mechanic gadgets. Maybe, just maybe we could open the black gate again and travel to the other side. I let my hand fall down and touch my lips. Could I resist you anymore if we met? Your hair, one shade darker than my own... your hazel brown eyes… I have not seen them since we were kids, but I have dreamt of them every night since. Sometimes I wish I would have died rather than lived, if I could have seen even once more the way you used to look.
