Please, please forgive me,
But I won't be home again.
Maybe someday you'll look up,
And, barely conscious, you'll say to no one:
"Isn't something missing?"

"Do you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do"

Vlad remembered their wedding day. It was a day that he will never forget. Elisabeta was dresses in a beautiful white gown; her dark, curly hair put up in a hairstyle that left a few tendrils framing her face. Vlad smiled. She was so happy that day that she was practically glowing. He couldn't blame her though, he was in a stage of euphoria as well. A tear slid down his face as he let the pain of the past overtake him.

You won't cry for my absence, I know -
You forgot me long ago.
Am I that unimportant...?
Am I so insignificant...?
Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?

While he was with her, he was in heaven. She was his saviour , his redemption, his soulmate.

Even though I'm the sacrifice,
You won't try for me, not now.
Though I'd die to know you love me,
I'm all alone.
Isn't someone missing me?

He remembered their children. The bright smiles, the laughing, the love. He swore never to let anything happen to them…he had failed.

Please, please forgive me,
But I won't be home again.
I know what you do to yourself,
I breathe deep and cry out,
"Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?"

He remembered the day he and Elisabeta came back from a trip and found their children brutally murdered. That was when their relationship starting disintegrating. But that was his fault as well, he became cold and cruel, he was never home, and when he was she could smell death on him, and that made her cry even more.

Even though I'm the sacrifice,
You won't try for me, not now.
Though I'd die to know you love me,
I'm all alone.
Isn't someone missing me?

He remembered leaving for the last battle, how she begged him not to. How her face fell when he said he had to, and how, when she looked back up, her eyes were filled with prophecy as she said, "I'm afraid for you, I don't want to loose you, not now."

He cursed himself everyday for not listening to her, if he had know that it would be the last day that he would see her alive, he would've stayed.

And if I bleed, I'll bleed,
Knowing you don't care.
And if I sleep just to dream of you
I'll wake without you there,
Isn't something missing?
Isn't something...

The letter, the crying, the anger, the remorse, the guilt, the funeral, the flowers, the well wishers, the…………the thought of losing everything.

Even though I'm the sacrifice,
You won't try for me, not now.
Though I'd die to know you love me,
I'm all alone.
Isn't someone missing me?

At the end he did it for her, he did it because he never gave up hope in finding her spirit in some other time.

It was his curse, the true reason for his damnation. It was not a happy ending like in the stories. Not for him, for him there were years of wandering around the earth, hoping to find a bit of her in someone else. But no one will ever replace her. Not even a thousand brides. She will always be his one true love. And the memory of her and all the times they shared, that would keep him going for all eternity.

Please

A/N: please review, I did this in between studying for exams(science) and I'd like to know how it turned out. Thanks! Oh and yes I know that Vlad might not be all the well done, but I made it with a few inspirations, and minuscule amount of time. Thanks again! REVIEW!
