"Mokuba?"
It was the middle of the night, and all the inhabitants of the Kaiba mansion were sound asleep. The gates were locked, the doors shut tight, even all the maids and butlers were resting in their quarters. Any random hoodlum wouldn't be able to get in, but Mokuba's girlfriend wasn't any random hoodlum. In fact, she was kneeling right at the edge of Mokuba's bed, poking him gently on his cheek at that very second. She asked again, "Mokuba?" He stirred, and opened one eye.
"M-Mana?" He stuttered. "What are you doing here?" He sat up immediately and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. "Who let you in?"
"No one, I'm a magician, remember?" She smiled a little, climbing up next to him. He nodded a little, still tired. "Anyway, I'm here because the Prince is… W-Well, I just thought it'd be better if I left for the night." She looked down and tightened her grip over a part of his sheets.
"Oh." Mokuba said in return. He was too tired to ask for more details, so he just lifted up his covers. "You wanna sleep here, then?" He asked. She nodded a little and gently slipped in next to him, stirring around for a moment to make herself comfortable.
"Sorry to bother you." She squeaked, shutting her eyes. He smirked a little, falling back asleep already.
"Really, it's no big deal. I mean, I'm supposed to look out for you, too, right?" He murmured, breathing softly. They were quiet for a few minutes, and then they both went to sleep.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IN MY BROTHER'S BED?" Literally the loudest alarm clock in the entire universe screamed. Mana sleepily opened her eyes.
"Huhwha…?" She mumbled, looking up to see Kaiba with an outraged expression standing above her. "Oh." She yawned. "Hey, Kaikai. Gimmie five more minutes…" She mumbled, rolling over. He gave her about two seconds, grabbed the back of her shirt and started dragging her out, muttering something about how filthy commoners, and how someone was going to be fired for this.
"M-Mana? Brother…!" Mokuba, who only woke up to hear her protesting as Kaiba pulled her away angrily, called. He jumped out of bed and caught up with them. "A-Aren't you overreacting a little?" He asked, raising an eyebrow and taking Mana's hands and pulling her up. She looked like she was about to cry from being woken up so abruptly.
"S-She was getting her filthy filth all over you!" He raged, too shocked to think rationally.
"Oh, boy." Mokuba sighed. He turned around. "Well, you'd better go, Mana." He smiled a bit.
"U-Uhm, okay…" She murmured, quickly giving him a hug and getting the heck out of there.
Mokuba was the bravest person she'd ever known.
