"And then when you do that I need you to pick up the latest mission file from Aro" The bane of my existence, Edward Cullen said with that annoyingly superior smirk on his face.
"Yes sir" I said, gritting my teeth, fighting back the urge to kick his ass to the dark side of the moon.
"That's a good girl" He sat down at his desk and began typing something, I took that as my cue to leave.
Hi, I'm Isabella Swan and I was the best (not to blow my own horn) spy the TSA (teen spy agency) had, pay special attention to the word 'was' in that sentence. I screwed up. Big time. I had been on a mission to get Princess Tiffany from England to somewhere in Europe, and, yep, you guessed it, I managed to get her kidnapped by the most notorious gang in the universe; the red back spiders. Luckily (for Tiffany), Edward Cullen had stepped in and got half the member of the gang in jail, giving him the top spot. I was stuck as his assistant and had to help him with EVERYTHING, I got him his coffee (although we were only 17 he seemed to need it every 5 minutes!), his dry cleaning and his mission files. I hated it!
I walked into the little coffee booth right next to his office and ordered.
"One short black" I practically drawled, the person behind the counter got up from her chair and, practically in slow motion, began to make the coffee.
She handed it to me, and without a single word, sat back down.
I turned and walked back into the asswipe's office.
"Here's your coffee sir, I'll go get the mission file" I turned to walk away.
"There's no need for that, Aro bought it down here personally." I turned to face him, hoping my face didn't show the shock and anger I felt, Aro had NEVER come down from his office to bring something to me- EVER.
"Why?" I asked, trying hard to keep my voice level.
"Because he had to explain something to me, now, if you would please sit down" He indicated to a chair.
For once, I willingly listened.
"As much as I hate the idea, Aro is forcing me to take you on my next mission"
I almost squealed in delight until I realised a very important detail.
"Wait... We... Have to go... Together?"
He just took a long sip from his coffee.
"Yay! You worked it out" He sarcastically laughed.
"Did he say anything else?"I asked.
"If we succeed you get your job back, but if we fail... you're fired, forever" He finished with a slight smirk on his face.
"What do we have to do?" I asked, ignoring him.
"It's simple. We have to wipe out the red-back spiders."
"But, that's... That's... Impossible" I murmured.
"Not with me at your side" He said.
"You were kidding when you said that right?" I said, almost pissing myself laughing at the cheesiness of the sentence.
He pretended he hadn't heard me.
"We have to leave for Spain tomorrow, we heard that that's where they're at their strongest."
"I'll go pack" I said, waltzing out the room.
I was so happy! A mission! Finally, a chance to redeem myself! I couldn't wait, for once, I didn't even care that I had to go with the person I hated most in the world.
