A/N: Ulquihime week: The heart.

Well this an AU sometime like an older town style. May be European eastern or whatever you would like. I have thought about it for a while. I am happy to be able to participate in the ulquihime week despite being busy

She was not supposed to participate in the argument from the beginning. At weekends, downtown was usually filled with people arguing about different matters. They were usually men. Old women or women with position would participate occasionally. She was neither.

She knew she was not to participate but she couldn't stop herself from arguing back. How could he not believe in the heart? Though she was agitated by what he said and were at opposite ends, they had a civil argument and he didn't treat her any less being a woman.

And that was how it started.

She sometimes saw him when she was out. Sometime they would exchange glances. She couldn't help the growing admiration towards the green eyed man. She was conflicted how this happened. He was the opposite end yet it happened.

She was standing in her window in the morning when she saw a welcomed familiar face looking at her from downstairs.

"Hello" She could see a mix of confusion, conflict and a hidden softness in his eyes. They were very expressive unlike his face.

"Hello Mr..?" This was the first time they had talked since then.

"Cifer, Ulquiorra Cifer. Miss...?" He answered.

"Inoue, Orihime inoue." She replied with flushed cheeks.

He looked at her then left. She was excited with happiness and also disappointed at his rudeness for leaving like that. She entered her room again.

A few minutes later she heard a knock on the door and went too see who was there. She didn't find anyone, rather there was only flowers.

She now understood the reason for all those mixed emotions in his eyes.. Why he left suddenly. He was a prideful man. He would rather die than admitting his feelings which means acknowledging the heart, his heart specifically.

She smiled. He didn't seem to be winning this fight. She would help him lose it. She would teach him about the heart. She would teach him about love and learn along with him in the process.
