I don't own Avatar.
A.N. Okay, this is not a relationship I ship for. Honestly. It is just something I thought of last night while explaining some ships to my sister. There was an episode of Avatar on in the background. "The Boiling Rock," both parts. It was right when Mai saves Zuko and his group of prisoners. This is what Ty Lee was thinking as she stopped Azula and Mai from fighting. And this is a one-shot. I won't be continuing it. Just so you know.
Ty Lee stood there for a second, looking at her own fists. They had pretty much just condemned her. She shook off her stupor, and quickly said "Come on, let's get out of here!" to Mai.
But before they could escape, they were surrounded. Azula gave the orders, and a shiver of fear went through Ty Lee's lithe form. She didn't want to rot. Rotting left your aura all ugly and messed up. It would so not be fun. As they were led away, Ty Lee glanced at Mai. This reminded her of the reason she had done what she had. Mai. Mai was Ty Lee's best friend, and an amazing person, though her aura was dark. Mai was beautiful, and if she was comfortable with you, had a great sense of humor. Ty Lee loved her.
She knew Mai loved Zuko. She didn't care. She loved Mai, and that was all there was to it. The only reason she had fought Zuko today was that he had broken Mai's heart. He had shattered it into little pieces, and left Ty Lee to pick them up. She had gotten no thanks for it either. So Ty Lee had fought, thinking of Mai's teary face as she had read the note, thinking of the hours she had spent cheering the weapon's expert up. Ty Lee loved her, and Zuko had hurt her. He deserved pain. Ty Lee had tried to give it to him.
But Mai had saved him. Now Ty Lee felt bad about trying to hurt him, because Mai obviously didn't want him hurt. When they had gotten back to the prison, Ty Lee had watched in fear for her love as Azula confronted her. Ty Lee had winced at the mention of love for Zuko, but leaped forward as Azula prepared to attack. Mai couldn't be harmed!
As they were led into shadow, Ty Lee came back to the present. She sidled closer to Mai, and whispered, "I'm sorry, Mai. I shouldn't have attacked Zuko. And I'm sorry we're here. It's my fault." She kissed Mai on the cheek.
"No it's not. And I forgive you." At this, Ty Lee stood up straighter. She was ready for whatever this prison threw at her. She would be strong. She would be strong for her love. She would be strong for Mai.
More A.N. What did you think? Yep, pretty random. Stupid plot bunnies! Well, I hope it wasn't too terrible. Thanks for reading. Oh, and I repeat, this is a ONE-SHOT! No more chapters, and no sequels. Have a nice day.
