Yo! This is my fist Black Cat fic, so bear with me.

He didn't believe in heroes.
He gave up on the idea that there were people in this world, who risked their lives to save others, simply because it was the right thing to do. Sure, there were people who risked their lives to save others, but that's only because it's part of their job. People like policemen, and firefighters only risked their lives for others because it was an obligation they could not avoid. In his world, the word 'hero' meant nothing to him. That is what he believed, and no one could change is mind.
He would never believe that such a person existed.
Never.
He could never believe that, because no had ever saved him. Not once.
No one would ever save him, from loneliness, from himself, from Chronos.
That is what he thought and believed, until he meant her.
Saya.
She changed his opinion on and about many things in life. But the thing that changed most for him was the word 'hero'.
Because she saved him.
From loneliness.
From himself.
From Chronos.
He wondered if she knew herself in how many ways she had saved him.
He never had the chance to ask.
Because she died.
In cold blood.
Murdered, by his partner.
Creed.
In the glow of the fireworks that glittered in the sky like brightly colored stars.
Still, she had saved him.
He started over.
This time he choose the life of a stray cat. Of a sweeper.
This time heroes of some surrounded him.
There was his partner Sven.
Eve, the little girl with nano- machines inside of her.
And yes even the thief Rinslet Walker, in her own special way was a hero.
They were all heroes.
"Train!" He looked up from his bottle of milk to see Sven and yelling to him.
"Come on! If you don't hurry up we're going to miss the train!"
Train smiled as he ran and caught up with Sven, and Eve who was silent as always.
Heroes did exist; he thought as he sat down in his seat and looked outside.
They simply didn't know.
